On October 2, 1986, Camilla Belle was born in Los Angeles, California, United States of America. She is the daughter of Jack Weasley Routh, a country song composer and owner of a construction company, and Cristina Routh, a Brazilian-born fashion designer.
Camilla’s mother’s favourite Brazilian soap opera, “Cavalo de Ao,” featured actress Renata Sorrah’s character Camila. Therefore she was named after her. Most people, though, refer to her as “Belle.”
Camilla went to Marlborough School in Los Angeles, an all-girls high school. She learned English and Portuguese as a child. She used to regularly go to her mother’s family in Brazil as a child.

Belle made her professional debut in a newspaper advertisement at the age of nine months. At the age of five, she participated in two TV movies, ‘Troubleshooters: Trapped beneath the Earth’ (1993) and ‘Empty Cradle,’ in which she played the lead.
